Our pets come into contact with harmful chemicals and toxins from their surroundings and environment. In fact, pets, more so than humans, will be more likely to ingest chemicals around them due to their eat-first, suffer-later approach to things (much like a baby!). But keep in mind, that when a pet product is brought into your home environment, the chemicals and toxins contained in in that product are not only affecting your pet - but yourself and your family as well. For this reason, it is especially important to watch and carefully select what pet products you buy.

Most flea remedies on the market today contain harsh and toxic chemicals (e.g., pesticides, including fipronil, imidacloprid, methoprene, etc.) that affect you, your family, your pet, and the environment.  From personal experience, in the past when applying these flea treatments (and the included pesticides!) to my pets, I honestly had no idea what chemicals I was adding to my pet's bloodstream, my home environment or the environment overall.  Even though I had no idea what I was applying, inside of me somewhere I questioned what I was doing, and wondered what (unknown?) effects would result from the chemicals I was adding to my pet's body and my home.  There are, however, alternatives!
